ok, one thing i neglected in my d44 swap was the use of a steering stabilizer. before someone comes out and says "steering stabilizers are a band-aid..." i guess i dont totally need one but it cant be hurting anything and ill have the piece of mind that maybe it is helping a bit.

so, does anyone know of a steering stabilizer kit for a d44, preferrably one with u-bolts to the axle tube and u-bolts to the tie rod. similar to

i would prefer a dual steering stabilizer. the website the image is from probably sells what im looking for but the options are all part numbers and i have no idea about any of the numbers.

anyone have pics of their setup or what part numbers i need for a d44 with axle tube 2.75" dia. maybe that would help me in getting a stabilizer setup thats right for my application.

thanks guys

I have a single Explorer Pro-Comp for an '83 CJ7. It fits perfect. My D44 is from a early '80's Wagoneer. HTH.

I don't run one at all and haven't seen the need.

Now that's out of the way, I'd say they are all almost exactly the same anyway, but to be sure just buy for whatever your D44 came out of. Chevy, Ford, Waggy, whatever, I bet they are all very similar.

Good grief why ????

Anyway, Currie makes a u-bolt setup that you can use, such that you can buy a stock style SS. Simply weld a 3/4" bolt on for the other end (top of the axle tube somwhere).
As already mentioned, you simply don't need one. I haven't used one in some time now.

Bill I'm with HotRod, don't run one, and don't see any reason to.
