Had one on my YJ.... quite possibly the one stupidest thing I've ever purchased for any of my Jeeps. The final straw was when I ripped the dang thing completely off which means you also sheer off the windshield bolts and rear body fender bolts also. Don't get it... that's my 2¢.

Holey crap, how did you manage to rip the thing off?

I have the Kargo Master Congo Cage and I'm very happy with it. I use it to carry around my surfboards.

I have since bought the optional cross bars, but they aren't needed. You should have no problems carrying a kayak with it.

I have the Garvin "Wilderness Rack" and have been very happy with it. It's probably more than you need for just kayaks but a very well made product..

I ripped mine [Olympic sports rack] off on a tight trail... peeled it completely off (with my canoe). It was ruined as a roof rack and used as a light bar until the rattling drove me crazy.

Here's my YJ BEFORE the carnage...

the finish on the olympic stuff i have bought wasnt the best. after a couple of years of road salt in the winter it needs removal and repainting.

Ok guys, thanks....ordered the Congo yesterday! Hey it was even a lower price than the Olynpic, and holds over double the weight. I think Olympic needs to go back to the drawing board.
