Help for a newbie...90YJ...I don't drive it too often or at great distances, mainly just around town...but I decided to take it about this weekend about 40 miles each way . When I got home, I noticed (drain plugs are kept out) that I had oil on the rear floor right behind the center consol around the floor drain holes Seems like it "sprayed" up (not sure how that is possible) and also noticed a little whitish smoke underneath the jeep directly below where the oil is. Any thoughts.

Just keep an eye on it and check the fluid level in the Tcase. The seal is notorious for leaking....

Yup, you have a leak and it is getting on the driveshaft while driving and that spins it all over the place, including through the drain holes and onto the exhaust, causing the smoke. Get her fixed before you have an oil fire.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The oil is a reddish brown and does not seem to be that thick. Will it ever end...
When I was home for lunch today and came out of the house to get into my truck, the light was shinning perfeclty on the rear of my jeep. My rear hitch and bumpets looked as if they have been coated with a mist of a petroleum based product...not sure if gas or oil from the above post...I guess I need to put it in the air and really check things out!! Is a T-case seal something that can be done by a novice???
