View Full Version : MY local salvage yards suck!
Well i called all the local salvage yards looking for a new motor. I found several that had one but none of them could tell me milage or if it even ran! Why would i give soemone 500 bucks for any thing that i wasnt sure would run? Sorry just had to vent someplace.

Wow, yeah every junk yard I've ever called at least can tell me the mileage of the motor.
Yeah i know. One guy said he didnt even know if they ran or if they were selling them. God i hate the north country!

I don't know where upstate you are but Don's in Binghamton will tell you the mileage and I think warranty it for 30 days or something like that. At least they did for my boss' son. Heres the link to the site. http://www.donsauto.com/ . They do warranty the engine for 1 year and give a labor allowance for 6 months . HTH
Thanx for the link . Although that is pretty far away from me. But maybe i can keep it in mind as a last resort.

where in "upstate" are you. most of the salvage yards near me can tell you mmilage and if the motor runs.
Im about one and a half hours north of syracuse. On lake ontario.
