speaker wire question

I'm putting outdoor speakers in my yard and the wire is black and white, i thought speaker wire was red and black, so is the white wire positive and the black neg?

Yes black is always Neg.

yes, black is negative, or the wire with the black stripe... But as long as it is hooked up to the receiver and the speaker the same, it doesnt matter.

you can hook it up however you want it. The only thing is to be sure which wire is positive and which is negative. ;)
