I installed outdoor speakers and thought that if i put my sirius radio next to my regular radio that i could get sirius through the outdoor speakers but it's not working. i have it tuned to the same station that i tune it to in my car.

It should work. Make sure your docking station is set up correct. Also try the radio without the outdoor speakers if it works then there is something wrong with your speakers. I have a problem getting a good signal indoors. I had to buy an extention for the antenea.

Do you have a home kit for the Sirius unit? If you do, you need to plug in a mini jack cable from the back of the home kit to a line in jack on the radio. You might be able to plug it into the headphone jack, but I'm not sure.

I think that the newer sat. radios don't transmit as far as the older ones. I have the cheapy wal-mart Xact model XTR3 car only model, and mine transmits out to 50 feet.

I don't have the home kit. I have the s50 boombox. I thought i could just put the boombox next to the stereo.

I don't think that works I know that for the signal to transmit it must be wired directly to the stereo or you must use an antenea, (small short wire that comes out the back of the docking station). The conection is FM out. The boombox your discribing doesn't transmit the signal.

the boombox has an aux jack and headphone jack but that does't help. when i plug the stereo to the boombox it makes a loud buzzing noise. i guess i'll buy a home docking station to c if that works.

the new ones don't transmit as far i think, i have an old one and could get it from across the house. I had mine plugged in all the time and on in an upstairs window, and could get it all over even the basement.

I think a radioshack employee a while ago mentioned that the FCC said they need to power down the transmitters a bit, cuz he was surprised I had a Gen-1 Starmate Replay.
