View Full Version : God hates me, I just know it
Over the past several months my life has been total and absolute crap. Not one single thing has gone right for me. I have been forming this idea that God hates me. After today I am 100% convinced. I don't know why, I've never done anything to anyone that was so terrible to make me deserve this. But I am most certainly being punished.
Today I was walking through Home Depot. They had rearranged the store and I was having a tough time finding the things I wanted so I was just wandering around. I looked over and see grill brushes and remembered that I needed a new one since the one I had was years old and in bad shape. As I stood there looking at the selection trying to make up my mind which one to get a huge box falls from above and hits me on the head. I yelled something obscene and start looking around to see how this happened. A minute or so later an employee sticks his head around the end of the isle and asks if I'm alright. In the end I discover he was on a ladder on the next aisle and pulled out a box and this box that fell on me was evidently on top of it and he didn't know. Lucky for me it was full of plastic dust pans and not something heavy.
I guess God is no longer content to just make my life hell. He now feels it's necessary to harm me physically. I hope my roof doesn't cave in on me when I'm sleeping tonight.

Buck up buddy. God isnt in to hate. Perhaps life is a little hard now but it always gets better if you let it. Try to turn your thoughts away from whats wrong and focus on the good that is in your life.

I'm sure it wasnt negligence on the part of the employee..... either way, I am glad to see that you are at least ok.

I've never met you, however i can see by the way you help others and how many friends you have on this board that you are a good guy. I would never believe God was punishing you. He wouldnt do that. I do believe that God will test certain individuals. He may have somthing great in store for you, you just cant see it though the fog that he has laid over your eyes. That being said, you are a rational man, and i didnt say that to try to change any views you might have about my man up stairs. I just simply wanted to give you another point of view.
Glad you didnt get hurt bro! Chin up! :D

To add (for everyone's point of view) life goes up and down.
The lowest points of you life only make you stronger for pulling through it, and helps you appreciate high points.
Just remember, when the roller coster goes down, just around the corner it will shoot straight back up!

No,God does not hate you.
MURPHY,is stalking you.
He usually has a short attention span, but, occasionally devolops an all consuming infatuation with people.
Just weather the storm as best you can,try to smile, and, play it safe.
When MURPHY moves on to the next poor soul, you can start buying lottery tickets with confidence....
;)
I don't believe in a god so I don't live with the paranoia of whether some deity is testing me. It may be a fool's paradise, but it's paradise just the same. :D
When I'm going through hard times like you've been going through, I usually envision myself as a distance runner. The race is life and obstacles on the path take the form of people on the side of the track with baseball bats. Every once in a while they will swing the bats right into my shins. I avoid many of them and just kind of stumble on past them. Some hit me full on and I go down but keep moving by crawling. It's all good though, I know I'll get to a stretch where there won't be as many baseball bat weilding hoodlums.
In life you just gotta plan for the worst, hope for the best, and deal with whatever you get.
By the way, did they make you pay for the grill brush? smile.gif

Seriously, I know God doesn't hate me. I know things just look bad now and that as my attitude improves so will my view of things. When I stop and think about things I realize how great my life really is. I have 2 kids I love very much and they have been extremely supportive of me over the past several months. I own my own home and both of my vehicles are paid for. I have some wonderful friends, many of whom are right here. Thanks for your support. :D

BTW, the employee was negligent. Any time they are removing/placing any objects on upper shelves they are supposed (store safety rule) to block both aisles w/ snaprope and sign BEFORE going up with lift or ladder. I am glad you were not injured, but think what could have happened!

thats why you should stop at lowes, only major retailor never to have a death lol... and to somebodies statement bout the aisles being blocked, thats only if we are using power equipment not ladders.. thats lowes anyway
I think I'll keep this thread going for as long as something bad happens to me each day.
Today's entry....
On Father's Day my son came over and said he didn't have any money to get me a Father's Day present but a friend of his had bought this digital camera about a year ago and promptly lost the charger. He had never even taken a picture with it. But since he didn't have the charger he gave it to my son, who in turn gave it to me. I thought "no problem, I'll just buy a charger." So off we went to the mall camera store to buy a charger. They didn't have one in stock but could order me one. I paid in advance and they said 4-5 days. Today I got a call. 4 days, gee, maybe things are turning around for me. No such luck. I went and picked it up, brought it home and what do you know, it wasn't the right one. At least I got my money back from the store. So now I am searching for a tranny part (see other thread) and a charger for my camera. Unfortunately I have not found a source for either, one.
On the bright side, my parents are visiting from Florida. Their plane landed on time and everything went as planned picking them up. I would post pictures, but we all know I don't have a charger for the battery. :D
I can hardly wait until tomorrow to see what horrible thing awaits me. I'm sure by now each of you is thinking the same thing. I'll keep you posted.

You know, people tune into all sorts of things on the WWW these days. I'll bet you could set up a pay site and profit from the lousy luck you apparently have.
You may want to consider seeing a voodoo doctor or one of those herbal healers to bump you out of the rut you're in. They might be able to pour chicken pee pee in your ears or rub goat feces on the back of your neck as a regimen until your life gets better.
In the meantime I'd reccomend you avoid playing lawn darts or even croquet for that matter.
Good luck to you.
Today didn't suck. Nothing particularly bad happened. Nothing fell on my head, nothing more broke on the Jeep, and I had some fun. Spent some time with my parents and my kids, went to a small car show, and generally enjoyed myself. I have to admit I'm a little confused by it all but have learned to not question such things. Today was a very good day. Sorry to disappoint anyone who only read this to see what troubles had befallen me today. Eh, who knows? Maybe tomorrow will be bad for me and entertaining for you. :D

English is not the official language of America. The US doesn't have one.
Have you ever been to Mexico? If you have, you know that many of the signs there are in both English and Spanish, especially in border areas.
I defy you to explain to me how putting Spanish on a sign in a hardware store is "destroying" our culture.
And you also talk about what I would do in some half-brewed hypothetical situation about a "declining culture," and comment on how all of my opinions are "contridictory and irrational." At that point in the thread, I hadn't even expressed an opinion on anything yet, much less a whole bunch of them. When and if I decide to, it will be supported by some kind of reasoning -- unlike yours. You do realize that that's what "rational" means, right? Because you saying that your opinions are rational doesn't make them so.

FEAR . Yeah, maybe that is what it is. Sadness too. Fear and sadness that the culture and nation that took so much to build will be destroyed by some liberals who don't thnk out the consequeses before acting on their impulses.

Oh, and BTW, you label yourself as a liberal. I am assuming that you hold all typical liberal beliefs. I am talking about liberals in general and assuming that you agree with them because you label yourself as one.
Nothing written is meant personally.

Educated? Well thought out? Let's see ... I'll leave the spelling alone, but how about these minor issues with your original post:
What language is the Declaration of Independance written in? What language is the Constitution written in? What language does the President give speaches in?
What makes a language official if majority usage doesn't??
English is not the official language of America. The US doesn't have one.
Yes, and why do they have the signs written in English? Tourism. Many touristy places here have signs written in many different languages too. That is distracting from the point. How many hispanic tourists are going to come to the US to come to Lowes???
Have you ever been to Mexico? If you have, you know that many of the signs there are in both English and Spanish, especially in border areas.
There are a lot of Germans where I live. Why don't we write the signs in German as well? I am not saying that other cultures are not being ruined by this problem as well, but it is a problem.
This nation was founded with the english language and up until the last 50-100 years, immigrants learned the language as soon as they arrived here. They did not get special treatment. Our culture is a melting pot. This means that, while some parts of the different cultures will stick and make the American culture even more unique, the newcomers "melt" into society.
If you put some nickel into a pot of gold, the nickel will transfer some of it's good qualities to the gold and make it stronger, but the pot will still be easily identifiable as being gold.
How come segregation is acceptable for hispanics, but everyone was outraged about segregation 50 years ago??
Historically, immigrants assimilate into the new society, not the othe way around. If their country and it's ways were so good, why emmigrate??
I defy you to explain to me how putting Spanish on a sign in a hardware store is "destroying" our culture.
Because that is a typical humanist approach. It may not be your opinion, but there are very good odds that it is.
Better to be a redneck and be able to stand up for what is right, that to be a liberal and be swayed by every breeze.

Man, has this post got side tracked. I thought it was about Paul and the luck he has been having.
How about since the majority of people in the world speak Spanish we just adopt that as a world language and everyone on the planet has to learn that to communicate.

What language is the Declaration of Independance written in? What language is the Constitution written in? What language does the President give speaches in?
What makes a language official if majority usage doesn't??That's easy. A law makes a language official. We don't have one and if a bill to propose one came to Congress it wouldn't pass. So English is not the official language of America and probably won't be anytime soon.
Which means you have no right to expect everyone to speak it. Native Americans spoke all kinds of different languages in this country for thousands of years before it was America -- does that mean we should all have to learn those languages?
Yes, and why do they have the signs written in English? Tourism. Many touristy places here have signs written in many different languages too. That is distracting from the point. How many hispanic tourists are going to come to the US to come to Lowes??? Oh, so Mexicans are OK with you, as long as they're just tourists?
This nation was founded with the english language and up until the last 50-100 years, immigrants learned the language as soon as they arrived here. They did not get special treatment. Our culture is a melting pot. This means that, while some parts of the different cultures will stick and make the American culture even more unique, the newcomers "melt" into society. Really? All the former immigrants learned the language the minute they moved here? How do you know that? Because I don't think that's true. My great-grandfather hardly spoke English after 80 years in this country.
If you put some nickel into a pot of gold, the nickel will transfer some of it's good qualities to the gold and make it stronger, but the pot will still be easily identifiable as being gold. We're not talking about metal, so that's a useless metaphor. Mexicans aren't made of nickel, and the US isn't made of gold, and nobody's melting either one. If you must insist on comparing the US to metal, it would be some kind of alloy made up of lots and lots of different metals, which would represent lots and lots of different immigrants.
How come segregation is acceptable for hispanics, but everyone was outraged about segregation 50 years ago??Who's talking about segregation? If you think having two languages on a sign in a hardware store is "segregation," you need to go read some history books.
Because that is a typical humanist approach. It may not be your opinion, but there are very good odds that it is. What do you know about the "typical humanist approach"? What do you know about my opinions? Are you Nostradamus?
Judging from what you post on this board, in your world evil liberals want to take all your money and give it to dark-skinned people and open the borders and let everybody in and destroy America. None of that is true. You live in a fantasy based on ignorance and fear, just like I said before. Just like most of your redneck cronies on this board.
This will be my last post on this topic in this thread. As others have said, it was created for another purpose. If you want to continue this you can create a new thread or PM me.
