I hate it when you buy something, but you can't put it on for a few weeks because of time. Then you finally do- and something is wrong with it.
I finally got to install the Quick Mirror II on my Jeep. I'm screwing in the driver side mirror to the bracket- just turning that knob....and it just keeps turning- it stripped the threads on the first try. Went in straight, didn't do it too hard- just caught a bad one. Now I gotta wait.

If you got them from Q-Tec, they are pretty good with shipping out replacement stuff.
It also helps to live close enough where you get the stuff the next day too :D

Can't you take the bolt out of the bracket that came with it? If you can, take the good one down to Lowe's or Home Depot and match up the thread pitch.
Down there in CLT I would wind up doing that anyhow so that I could put lock washers on them to slow down the ne'er-do-wells.

You attach the mirror to the bracket with this hand-turn knob (later to be tightened down with a secondary nut) -- but the knob is fastened to the bolt. the bolt screws into the bracket- the bracket is what stripped- not the bolt- so I'd have to re-tap the bracket, and then get a new turny knob.

Ahh...I see (said the blind man).
Sounds like a new one is in order. I thought the bolt that stripped was the one that mounts to the existing bracket on the Jeep its self.

Ya I did a poor job explaining it the first time :)
