Of course married folk will have 2 rides. I was just wondering who all here depend on their Jeeps 24-7 as their Daily Driver with no alternative transportation other than say a Scooter.

I do. Just because we have two vehicles does not mean the heap is not a DD. I depend on it to get me to where ever I need to go. Can not (I mean do not want to) commandeer the wife's car whenever I need to.

We have three Jeeps, a YJ, an LJ, and a TJ. The YJ doesn't run so the others are our DDs. Mine, the TJ, is the trail Jeep as well.

I try to use my Jeep as a DD as much as possible but sometimes (a lot of times) mechanical issues require the use of the Jetta.

I do, and it costs me about a dollar to go 5 miles, which is bad because I might get a job that's 40+miles away.

During the winter, the Jeep is my DD. In the summer, I ride my bike about 75% of the time.

My YJ is my DD, i do want to get an old pickup soner or later, and a second jeep, but right now my YJ get's me to and from my job 25 miles away every day, and she works great (but still overheats a bit in mcdonald's drive-thru line)

lucky for me i'm gonna get a job at the same company as my fiance soon, so my jeep will be able to sit out the harsh battles of every day traffic and i'll just runw ith er, that'l save me about $75 a week in gas, yey

Not sure if I fit in here or not but the YJ would be my primary driver..I do have access to the 1 ton, but at 5 miles per gal, the jeep would be first choice..but if I do not have to carry anything and need to make a quick trip to town (abt 35 miles away) then I have a dual sport bike that I can use..the harley is out of the question as it sit in a garage in town, it will NEVER see this house as there is 4 miles of dirt road to the pavement and the Harley don't do dirt roads...yeah, the jeep would be my DD, sorta......

My first heep was a DD for a decade and 160,000 miles. Now I've been spoiled by smoother riding vehicles with all kinds of crazy stuff like AC and a stereo I can hear. Now heeps are just for fun. The wife DD's her Rubi tho.

DD by summer and good weather, otherwise my "new" truck will take the brunt of the miles.
I don't see the point, unless you have endless funds, in having a rig that never gets driven. I don't know about most of you, but I don't have many places to wheel. The only place that I know of here is not that cool and is 3-4 hours away. I don't get there often. I wanna drive the YJ more often than that.

YJ is DD, hauls landscape trailer, used on farm, and makes most of the trips 50 mi oneway or under....Being fat, old and grouchy, I kinda dislike running over 100 miles in it. Top/doors come off in March, will go back on in October or November, depending on weather.

i use my yj for a work vehicle and daiy driver if i don't have to be somewhere quick, if i have to be somewhere quick i use my ford focus

My YJ isn't always a daily driver, I go in spurts I might drive it for a week or two, then I might drive the car, just depends. My YJ has never had a problem playing daily driver though.

I've never hopped in the YJ and wondered if it would start, it always fires right up and is ready to go. Time to go find some wood to knock on....

I feel your pain, the closet place to me is over an hour away, the next one is almost 2. so I have to plan trips and can't just drop everything and go. thats part of the fun I guess.

when I had my TJ, it was my DD when it ran. Unfortunately, it spent more time broken in my garage or in the shop then it did as a DD.

She sure was pretty to look at. Just not a very reliable rig. I did have it nearly bulletproof when I decided to call it quits and strip her down and sell off all the parts I paid lots of good $$$ for and got pennies to the dollar. Luckily, I survived with minimal loss and managed to get a good comfy DD truck that doesn't serve dual purpose.

Driven daily on 38's. Just turned 160k and crap is starting to go out... figure I've replaced about 35% of everything on the jeep so there's only another 65% to go.

Mine is my DD! About 10 miles one way to work during the summer and 75 miles one way to college! I usually come home on the weekends to work as well so she sees a decient amount of mileage! After I get out of school and work isn't too far away I will probably get a Cummins as a DD and tow rig for the Jeep! If I have a long commute I was looking into an econo box of some sorts to save on the gas.

My Jeep was my DD for a long time. Now I have a choice, or will next week when the Jeep is finally fixed. I will probably drive the Jeep at least one day a week.

DD and it's a 54 mile round trip 5 days a week. For short couple of night camping trips we'll take the wife's wagon, but for longer trips we take the Jeep and a small utility trailer with our bikes and all our camping stuff.

2 YJ's pull DD duty at our house.

My '91 & my wife's '93.

The Dodge Megacab has been permanently assigned to camper/boat/enclosed trailer/gooseneck trailer/motorcycle hauling/Jeep towing duties.

I drive my red XJ every day and the blue XJ when I want to save gas.

The wife drives a Dodge Caravan.

If I could kepp this thing running, I'd drive it more often. Gets better gas milage than any of my vehicles.
