Haven't been on here much lately, 1 year old kid, work , etc... but heres what I've been up to.... not sure if this is really tech but I picked up a 46 CJ2A project a few months ago and have been slowly working on building it up and I finally got around to loading up some pics. It was pretty much a stock 46 basket case which one of the previous owners started working on and gave up, my plans are a Waggy D44 front, Scout 44 rear, Buick V6, TH400, D20 with lower gears, and 35-36" tires, outboarded springs, wheelbase stretch, and SOA on modified YJ springs. Here it is as I brought it home:

Sold off a bunch of parts and tore it down to the frame

Stripped the frame down and made up all new spring mounts, etc...

Thats pretty much where it stands now, working on the high steering (need some parts) and started welding up the holes and working on the body. I hate bodywork but will get some pics of my attempts up in a few days or so. All in all I'm pretty happy with how its coming so far...

Awesome project, I'd love to build a flatty someday.

Any plans to box the frame when you pull it apart for paint? Flatty frames are famous for flexing like noodles and cracking over time.

Keep posting pics.

Yep, already boxed in the front and the rear, waiting to do the mid section after I get the driveline situated and the crossmember / tranny mount built. I would love to build a new frame from scratch but just dont have the time and money right now so it will have to wait till the next teardown

Nice project! I like the modified stuff but don't show it on www.thecj2apage.com (http://www.thecj2apage.com) they may lynch ya. :D Nice 46s like that are hard to come by.

How was the engine? Is it in good shape? I may be interested if you still have it.

Sent ya a PM/e-mail.

Thats a 3A windscreen but it doesn't really matter since you're building. They used to paint the rebuilt engines red when they installed them, mine was also.

What ever you do, don't throw away parts, not even bolts or screws. List them here www.thecj2apage.com (http://www.thecj2apage.com) they also have excellent advise/help.

Well after lots of welding, sanding, grinding, filling, etc... its all in primer. I didnt go too crazy on the body work because its just going to get a spraycan paint job and beat up on the rocks but heres a couple pics. Next up I have to get some steel for the rocker guards/side steps I am going to make up and a friend just told me he has a 225 I can rebuild so I gotta pick that up.
