I'm thinking of getting rid of my TJ in favor of a JK. Are there any known issues with the new one that I should consider?
Also, how does the hardware on the Rubicon JK compare with the TJ? Same stuff? I had heard that the TJ Rubicons had problems with the electric lockers in the beginning.

here's what i know.
there are a few first-run issues with the JK. they are being addressed, though. i have had two problems with mine. one is fixed, one hasnt been yet. mainly because i have not gotten my JK by the shop to have it tested.
hardware? well. I'd say it is comparable to the TJ. While the info is still slim on the strength of the axles, the weakest link is the factory drive shafts. The CVs will likely fail when abused... and they will not handle severe angles. The SWB requires a new rear shaft with more than a 3" lift. The LWB will handle a 4" lift easily.
i have a rubi, and I have nad no issues with my swaybar disco or my lockers. so far so good.
the only thing i will speak poorly against is the engine. It just doesnt have any power. There is nothing awe inspiring in the power department. I can attest that the engine does come alive at about 3,000 rpm... at which point my LWB Rubi starts side-sliping... but for off the line acceleration, no. my ZJ will beat it off the line... and they are about evenly matching so long as the ZJ doesnt start its intermittent misfiring/skipping.
again on lockers, so far i have only heard of one guy who had an issue with his lockers. dealer fixed them quick, and I honestly cant say what the cause was.
there are alot of people out there that have 35-37" tires on their JKs and i have not heard of a shaft snapping.

Mine is doing great! I would trade my TJ in many more times on my JK!

Thanks for the response. I'm pretty committed now and just need to sell mine (or line that up) before I buy the new one.
Anybody wanna buy a TJ?
