MiGig DVD operation while driving

I just got a new unlimited with Migig. The DVD only plays when parked. Does anyone know how to override this? JG

Not positive how Jeep did the wiring, but I'm pretty familiar with most aftermarket AV headunits. Usually there is a safety wire that is tied into the emergency brake (or the neutral safety switch on an automatic trans). Usually a ground wire, which goes back to the AV unit. Basically when the wire "sees" a ground, it allows the unit's screen, DVD player, etc. to function. If it doesn't see ground, only basic operation is available. When installing an aftermarket unit, you can simply ground this wire permanently. If you can track down where this wire is grounded to, or figure out which wire this is on the back side of the MyGIG unit, and permanently ground it out, that should fix your problem, err safety feature.

CAUTION: If you do this hack, and you're in/cause an accident, and they find that you were distracted because of a DVD or av screen that is NOT protected by this safety feature, you can pretty much kiss any insurance settlements GOODBYE! You might also be looking at extra fines, lawsuits, etc...just a word to the wise.
