I'm going to look at a used 07 JK Unlimited X model for sale today.
Is there anything you guys reccomend I look for as far as potential problems? I do know about a couple of recalls (thanks to this forum), anything else?
It is a manual trans. with options:Hardtop, powerconvenience group, 17 inch alloys.
mileage: 7,500
asking price is 22,000 or best offer, sounds reasonable for what I have compared online.
Thanks for your advice!

I have an 07 JK unlimited sahara. same thing as yours for the most part.16000 miles & no problems to report except the recalls that were mentioned here on the board & an occasional leak in the hard top. the leak is usually when you put the tops back on & its not sitting exactly perfect. just loosen it all up & move it around a little then crank it back down again. I love my jeep so far. umm.... btw what you gonna do with the 92 yj? :D

Thanks for your advice! Well, I bought it! Dickered some and got it for less than advertised. Gave a down payment and will pick it up tommorow. the owner had taken care of the recalls. Nice color, Steel Blue I think it's called. Thanks again for the input on my questions!

congrats on the new to you ride. BTW I got the steel blue too. Looks like poop on the website but great in person. sometimes it looks blue others almost green sometime grey. depends on the lighting. enjoy.

sorry, i chimed in late here.

congrats on the purchase. let me suggest some things to pay attention to.

watch the front panels for leaks. most cases, it is resolved by loosening and lifting the panels and then reseating and tightening them.

listen for noises from the axles. there have been ISOLATED problems with failures on the ring gears. mainly in the D30. again, ISOLATED... nothing wide spread. i have heard of 2. both lifted with bigger tires (35-37") and no gear change.

if the hood lifts, there are a few ideas out there to cure it. one is here on this forum. simple and easy.

if the build date for your JK is anywhere NEAR the 1-22-07 build date, stay alert for the Stall Bug. Some had the flash done, but it wasnt done properly and required a second visit. Trust me. you'll know what it is when it happens. ;)

outside of that, the JK is a pretty decent vehicle with some 1st year hiccups. i'd recommend one of my first mods... an intake. seems to help the under-powered engine out a little.
