A resistor, make sure you get one capable of handling continuous duty, as they can produce some serious heat when dropping the voltage like that.

What do you need 6-volts for?

Where can i find a resistor? would that be an auto zone thing or a radio shack item?

To make sure that you are getting the right size, you will need to know the current draw.

Time to brush up on Ohm's Law or talk to an electrical Guru!

And, as Ohio YJ asked...."What do you need 6-volts for?" Inquiring minds want to know...

Oh, probably a Radio Shack thing....

radio shack can only help with a small project......

i hate to say this.... but um... if you honestly have to ask what you need to reduce voltage, then the actual need or the project kinda spooks me. :D :D

but, hey. aint my Jeep.
let the sparks fly!! :D :D
