Anyone else having this problem:
A chirping sound when the clutch engages and when on and off the throttle while driving? I brought my JK Unlimited to the dealer to have the brake computer recall work done and brought this noise to their attention; after a test drive, they said they heard it as well and said there is a TSB for this. The clutch disc (discs?) springs begin to chirp and the fix is to replace the clutch disc, which they will do to mine under warranty. The service manager also mentioned another TSB for worn transmission shaft bushings, he says that is not the problem with mine but we'll see if the clutch disc replacement makes the noise go away or not. My jeep has 10,600 miles on it.

there are 4 TSBs that i am aware of. two for the auto ... two for the stick. the two for the stick are both related to squealing. one is for the clutch disc, the other is for an improper throwout bearing preload.

Ask them about the TSB dated February 27 2007. That's the one for the clutch disc.

remind them of both of the TSBs... have your JK checked for both of them. if they give you a load of crap about it, try talking to another service center. some are better about it than others.... but if it is warranty work, any dealer can handle it. some like it better because they get more money for warranty repairs.
