running boards

Newbie to the Jeep world and loving it. I recently installed Rugged Ridge running boards on my 07 2 door. It seems that they are too close to the body. When I step up on them my foot is under the jeep. Whats the deal? Please help.

Welcome to the board. Easy fix: don't put your foot in there. :D
No really, I have no idea. I have seen nerf bars that are just close. One of my freinds TJ's is the same way, it's a PITA. Check the instructions and make sure they're installed properly.

any way you can take a pic and post it? the pic on the Quadratec site shows that it sits really close to the body as it is. as Mike said, I'd double check the instructions and also the steps themselves. Is there ANY adjustability in them?

i installed the same on mine and yes, the are close...as a matter of fact, i had to replace a pair of my wifes dress heels because she scuffed the top...damn the luck...so the $150 nerf bars cost me an additional $95...lol
