Greetings, newbie here. I have an 08 Unlimited Sahara 6 spd. I have installed an AirForceOne intake and a Jet stage 1 Chip. I want to do an exhaust but am unsure of what type. I like the dual tips for astetic reasons but was told by someone at a shop that the single tip Gibson gives more HP than the dual Gibson. Then I see a kit that moves the muffler up under the passenger area for more clearance under the rear bumper. Anyone have any thoughts on this matter  ?

welcome to the forum, Normous.
depending on who you ask, most have a draw to a specific kit. I have been leaning towards the dual outlet kits myself, but one thing (besides money) that makes me hesitant is the sound. i have not heard nor driven anything with an aftermarket muffler. you also have to remember that the JK has a V-6 engine in it... and it is hard to find the right exhaust.
i think the reasoning behind the statement that the muffler shop gave you is that a typical performance muffler like Magnaflow is a straight-thru design. A dual outlet such as the JK and Camaro use causes the exhaust to enter a chamber where it has to go one way or another... depending on design it is a not always going to help performance.
I tried a muffler for a Camaro... and i took it off. made my JK sound like a log truck. graemlins/barf.gif
right now i have a 40 series Flowmaster on it. it sounds "OK". Not too loud. Still has a buzzy kind of sound. I think that right now I am leaning towards headers. I put a Banks header on my ZJ (4.0) and I liked it alot. I'm planning the same for my JK down the road.... like when the warranty is out.
if you are as picky as i am on exhaust notes... you may want to really try and shop around to see if you can find something that sounds the way you want. I have seen far too many on for-sale forums elsewhere because either the owner or the owner's wife was not happy with it. ;)
BTW...
the kit you refer to is probably the Cool-Tech kit. you could do the same by having the muffler shop install a similar muffler and bend up a short tail pipe. Would probably be cheaper than their kit anyway. I downloaded two videos of a JK with their kit on it. I didn't like the tone of it, and it sounded WAY loud. the guy who apparently is the "owner" of the "company" said that it isnt as loud as it seems.
