I'm leaning HARD on trying to push my boss to get at least two trucks, in the form of "crew cab" 1500 series trucks.

what's the best and worst of each vehicle in your opinion?

I've always been a chevy guy myself. The 1500's are some of the best trucks on the road. not to mention, Cheaper to maintain than some of the other european counterparts.

However, Toyota has always made an outstanding truck. I heard the new tundras are not to be messed with, but they are pricey.

IMO if you're trying to get the brass to buy trucks, lean them towards Chevys or Fords. We have 3 4x4 4-door Ford f-150's, and our EMA director drives a 4-door F-250. I think departments can get discounts on the work truck models.

i'm already partial to GM since Lori forced me to buy the Tahoe for her in '04. the problem is that the PD is 99% all Ford Crown Vics. The 1% that isnt is the drug squad... which is 5 vehicles.

what I am hoping to do is "if" we get a full time bicycle squad going, I am looking to take up the supervisors postition. I'm gonna use the leverage that the bikes would see football games, parades, special events and such.. and would be handy to drag barricades and such.. and that we could load 4 bikes in the back, 4 officers in the cab and go.

I honestly think that the Chevy would be an excellent choice. The Dodge just seems too expensive. (but the Hemi's are F.A.S.T.!) smile.gif

a c0-worker bought a new '07 Tacoma. that thing is pretty swift, too. :D
