I don't know about most of you folks, but I absolutely LOVE my job. I can't really describe what I do, but seeing the results of my work gives me such a great feeling.
Watch this, see my work in action, and maybe you'll understand why I feel this way.
Enjoy.

If I had that job, I too would be pumped about going to work everyday. But I do have to say that I also love my job, even though it is just a job until I am done with college. I love getting to tech skis and bikes, and working with all types of fun machines. It's kind of fun to put together a man powered traveling machine.

It was hard to describe the job I had. I like jobs where I can see the results of my work.

Bottom left corner of page (when posting) in the box that says "Posting Rules" and click on "Smilies are On" and another window will open. Go down the list to find the one you want, then copy the characters from the left column.

Nice video but I still liked job better. Even if I was at the center of the bulleye, was the first thing targeted for destruction and always under a microscope. I had get satisfaction knowing that, with a couple of exceptions, no matter who I talked to when I spoke people jumped to get me the information needed. And if the need arised it was my call that made whatever stike package that was needed be launched. My job may not have been as important as others but still a vitale piece in the cogs.

Or, the even easier way... Click on "UserCP" in the upper left of any page. Click on "Edit Options". Scroll all the way down to where it says "Message Editor Interface" and change it to either of the other two options that aren't "Basic".

I've never seen this plane. At first i thought it was an F22. I noticed it is painted X-35. Doesn't that mean it's experimental? Is this jet in service yet? Very cool.

Closer to "mechanic", I work for a defense contractor, working on parts for these planes, and the F-22 Raptor.

I am one of those lucky few who can say they have their dream job. I have always been interested in construction. As a youth I used to work on jobsites near our home for free just to be part of it. As I got older and learned more about construction I figured out that I wanted to be the guy who showed up in the truck with a roll of plans, the dog sitting in the passenger seat, and rolled the plans out on the hood of the truck and went over the details with the on site foreman (we call them the Superintendent) - what I wanted to be was the "Project Manager", well, after a few years of collge and two AS degrees I am a Senior Project Manager. I get to manage the construction of all kinds of cool projects from school renovations to concrete dams to steel buildings to tenenat fit-ups, you name it. Although I do more than simply project manage (I hire field staff and office staff and field Supers, deal with HR stuff, purchase equipment, and the list goes on) I do enjoy my career!

My job satisfaction comes and goes. It is a JOB afterall and every job has good days as well as bad days. Luckily I've had more good than bad.
I like variety, getting to do alot of different things, if I had to look at the same 4 walls of a cubicle for the next 40 years I think I'd eat a bullet. My career allows me to do alot, see alot, and make a noticable difference in the world around me.
I have been lucky enough to do the following in the last 12.5 years:
Stop drugs from entering our country.
Stop illegal migrants from entering our country.
Stop damaged ships from sinking in the middle of the ocean.
Participate in command/control functions for responses ranging from WTC to the shuttle crash as well as hurricane responses and cleaning up anthrax in our nations capitol.
Mark navigational channels allowing commerce to travel our nations waterways.
Design and fabricate projects ranging in price from $10-30,000.
Teach classes on subjects ranging from firefighting to chemical indetification.
The list could go on for days.
Almost sounds like a recruiting poster in the making.:)
Oh yea, all this has been while I've been active duty in the Coast Guard.
Sometimes its great, sometimes it sucks. I has meant me averaging 200 days a year away from home for the last 11 years now, so all the fun and games is not without cost. At least I enjoy traveling.
