I just got back from spending a week there. water so clean you can drink from the stream. the folks there are the nicest around. spent the week drinking too much eating too much & having too much fun if that's possible. took the new Jeep offroading she looks like shes been beat up with a wire wheel but she did great. Did some salmon fishing, some trout fishing, some bass fishing, some shooting at targets. Did I mention way too much drinking & eating. stayed the whole 9 days for a grand total of 313.00 not including food or booze but you cant beat that no matter how you slice it..... pics to follow.

Shhh. Jeez man, you're supposed to keep stuff like that under your hat. We don't want everyone knowing how great it is here. ;)

Don't know where GLS is but my wife has been to Baxter State Park a couple times now on photography tours of Maine and she can't stop raving about the place.

whats cool is most people don't know where it is. tiny little place. 200 year round residents.

ever been to GLS?
Yup, nice part of the state out that way. I've actually been practically everywhere there is a road in Maine; I used to work for the DOT mapping the roads. A lot of the northern 2/3s of the state is pretty empty like that, just how we like it.

I was fly fishing for salmon. spin fishing for smallmouth. bait fishing in the bogs for lil brookies. trolling for salmon on west grand lake. did a little of everything but mainly flyfishing. I love that place.

I see you squating in a stream with a look on your face that could be relief and think to myself, "Yeah, I'm not drinking out of that stream." :D:D

OMG. One would think I could put 2 and 2 together. sure does look like it too don't it? relief was from landing the fish prolly anyway
Maine is a great place, people are great there. Not crazy about their winters (Oct to June). "Fly time" is fun too :D.
I've had to visit different paper mills there and it always seemed to be during the winters. Man, those people are tough. ;)
