Once officers were able to talk to the woman on the phone, they were able to tell her how to manually operate the slide lock mechanism on the inside door panel to open the door and free herself.
“I'm just glad she had a cell phone to call for help,” an officer said.
It was still a high tech solution to a low tech problem.
I am not a person who embraces a high tech world just because of such examples. I don't even use speed dial because I want to be able to remember important phone numbers when I am using a phone that is not programmed for my own personal phone numbers.

I used to be able to remember everybody's phone number. Then I started getting lazy and now if I lost my cell phone, I would not know any numbers.

Same here. Though, if I lose my phone, I'm not too worried as my contacts get backed up daily with my provider. When I get a new phone, I just have to download them to the new phone.

Don't you just love stories where a woman needed a man's help because she couldn't figure out something so simple and easy?
