It's good to see you are concerned about the safety of others.

If no tire on the tailgate or bumper carrier area why not get a shorter tongue?

It is all temporary until I get to build a bumper. Or I buy a new truck. And I just bought a new to me truck friday but don't have a hitch yet(ordering one tonight). This was probably the last trip with the jeep to haul wood home.

the trip was three miles.

3 miles of private land and you can't afford the right setup to tow?

Come on man. You can't tell me that the county maintains 3 miles of road for no one to use but you?

And you can't expect posting information and pictures on the internet and not expect people to bash you for doing something stupid.

If your gonna use your Jeep to tow, get the right hitch. People who don't die because of your ignorance will be much more appreciative. They may not say so but, they'll still be alive.

Stop being a playground bully, jafo.

Not being a bully. Just hate it when people do stupid stuff and put others at danger. Then post about it as if bragging. If I offend you... too damn bad...

mama said... stupid is as stupid does...

Don't get me wrong here JAFO is right if I had to go any farther than I did I would have unloaded half that load. But as it was it was a short trip with no one on the roads (that is the norm out here) and drove very slowly for safety.

which part of this do you not understand.

What part of SAFETY FIRST don't you understand? You admitted (and I quoted) that your hitch dropped at least an inch. What would you have done had it broke off and one of those logs killed someone?

I guess it's OK since you did drive "safely" but, safely means using the right tool for the job. Obviously, your hitch wasn't the right tool.
