Some of you may remember me asking about the value of a motorcycle that was going to be auctioned for charity at work, well I got it Friday. I was very lucky, I had a limit that I was willing to go over the value for charity and I won it at my max bid.

1982 Honda GL500
has 17,500 miles on it and is in pretty good shape, just a few paint chips that have been touched up.

Got my temporary permit today so I can ride it the last few nice days we have left here. Hopefully we will have a mild winter this year. :)

Thanks, I will definately do my best to stay upright. I think it will be a pretty good starter bike for me. Already dreaming of what kind I want to upgrade to.

If you have never ridden before, do yourself a favor and go to the MSF course. It's worth it.

Is that a class or are you talking about a skills test of some sort?

I've ridden before but this is the first bike I've owned so obviously I haven't ridden as much as if I had my own.

I just have a temporary permit right now that "technically" limits me to riding with a properly endorsed rider and only during daylight. It's good till the end of April, sometime between now and then I have to go to a testing site and go through a skills course and get a passing grade to get the permanent cycle endorsement.

Yes. Call your DMV for the #. I'm sure they'll offer the course for at least half off of what the cycle stealerships offer the course for.

I paid $150.00 for mine. Stealerships wanted $300.00 per person.

it's all 3rd party schools here, the DMV doesn't do it themselves. Already been told by a few guys at work who I need to go to for the best deal and results.
