My wife's birthday is just after Valentine's Day. That has its complications too.

Dec. 30th for mine. We always have the tree down by the 29th so her birthday doesn't feel like a late christmas.

Jeez, the people in your family really like to "get busy" in the spring, don't they? :lmao:
My sister's birthday is dec. 17 (?) I think, and parents anniversary is dec. 18. Just to clarify, my parents were married five yrs before my sister came along.

The the "automatic Holiday on your birthday" exclusion kicks in..the hoiliday does not and will never exist as long as the person whos birthday falls on such holiday. That "special" day belongs to that person and he/she shall celebrate it to the fullest up to and until that person expires...thats the law, I swear to God it is!

My wife's is Dec 30th and my daughter's is Jan 3rd. Yes, it's tricky as hell.

Does yours turn it into a week long celebration? My wife gets V'tines Day, then her birthday with just the two of us, then it hardly ever falls on a weekend, so her family comes to visit a couple days later. By the end of the week, we've eaten out at least three times!

Nah, she'll even tell you how cheap I am. Her B-day gift is the same this year as it was last year, and the last ten years. In fact she get the same thing every gift giving holiday. A hug, a kiss and a Happy (insert holiday here).
I am not a gift giver, nor do I really like getting gifts. More than anything I loathe shopping. If you see something you want, go buy it and tell me what I got you.

I think I read that somewhere too. Took me about two years to work that one out. The first year I got her a little something for her birthday (minds out of the gutter). Later she asked me what I got her for Valentines Day. I reminded her of earlier in the day. From that point on, she knew not to get her hopes up. Like virgin sex...whole lot of anticipation and build up. In the end a big let down and disappointment.
My sister's Birthday is December 31st. She thinks everyone is celebrating her big day and sees that as a perfectly acceptable explanation.
