I am going to upgrade the plow jeep (XJ) to a Optima, dual post red top. I remember a post about not useing the side term I think for high draw stuf like a winch. Will I have a orob if I hook up the plow lift to the side term??

If you are going with duals why are you trying to attach the plow lift to the side terminals? The side terminals cannot handle a high current draw which could cause a conductor to burn open. It's not only the high current draw, but the length of the draw too that winches require. Optima will not warranty your battery if you attach your winch to the side terminals, I'm not sure about a plow lift, but it seems pretty heavy duty for the side terminals imo...

Thanks thats what I thought the plow lift is just a quick on then off but I'm not gona take a chance. I'll use the side for the stock cables and the top for the plow lift and power wire for the red lites/2-way radio. I have 2 red tops in the YJ and love them and at $70-$85 for a batt I'll just upgrade, found a site that has the red top for $139.95 and free shipping not a bad deal the best I found localy was $169.

Optima batteries are not what they were a few years ago. Their quality has gone downhill and fast. I just put a Odyssey in my Jeep. Very nice battery. My vote would be for a Deka or Odyssey. Just a heads up about Optimas...
